Stafford Whelen Modified Driver Updates 9-26-14

#64 Ron Yuhas Jr. Groton, Conn. is still recovering from the horrific wreck at Loudon, NH,  late in the race last weekend. Best wish's for a speedy recovery

#52 Matt Hirschman of Northhampton, PA. will not race in the NAPA Fall Final at Stafford Speedway this weekend, citing engine problems and damage. Hirschman wrecked out in the Sat. Loudon race also on lap 24.

" The Darling 52 race team can not field a competitive race car at Stafford this week," Hirschman said."Instead I will be race close to home this week but still finish the season at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Oct 18th.in the World Series.
Hirschman is currently second in the Race of Champions Modified Tour standings to Chuck Hossfield. The Fall Brawl in Shangri-La II Motor Speedway on Sunday.

Max Zachem 21, of Preston, Conn. will pilot the #3 Chevrolet Whelen Modified Tour Car at Stafford Speedway this weekend. NO Charges after Grand Jury Hearing against Driver, Tony Stewart

Statement from Tony Stewart

Kannapolis,N.C. (Sept.24,2014) - Following a thorough investigation and presentation of all the relevant evidence and witnesses to an Ontario County(N.Y.) grand jury, the grand jury has determined there is no basis for the filing of any criminal charges involving the tragic accident of Kevin Ward Jr. on August. 9,2014 at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park.

The following is a statement from Tony Stewart regarding the grand jury's decision.

'This has been the toughest emotional experience of my life, and will stay with me forever. I'm very grateful for all the support I've received and continue to receive.

I respect everything the District Attorney and Sheriff's Office did thoroughly investigate this tragic accident.While the process was long and emotionally difficult it allowed for all of the facts of the accident to be identified and known.
'While much of the attention has been on me, it's important to remember a young man lost his life.Kevin Ward Jr.'s family and friends will always be in my thoughts and prayers."

 DA Michael Tantillo has announced at a press conference that Kevin Ward Jr. was under the influence of Marijuna at the time of the accident

Man dies from crash at Rusty Wallace Race Experience at Kentucky Speedway

                          INJURIES SUFFERED LED TO DEATH A WEEK LATER

A 30 year old man injured in a Rusty Wallace Race Experience at Kentucky Speedway died Sunday from his injuries. According to a Cincinnati Enquire report, Stephen Cox of Decatur, Ind., died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center on Sept. 21 as the result of a crash at the speedway on Sept.14. The report, however said that a speedway spokesman did not say whether Cox was a driver or passenger in the car at the time of the crash.
  The Rusty Wallace Race Experience offers driving and ride along packages. The one day schools travel to several tracks, including several that host NASCAR events, around the country.
