Class of 2014 "NASCAR Rookies" is Impressive !

Most of the racing press is following the winners for the Chase contenders and quietly we have a great battle going on between two outstanding Rookies.
Austin Dillion in the famous #3 is at 252 points with one top ten and no dnf's, good for $1,560,762 dollars. The other legitimate contender is #42 Kyle Larson at 251 points, two top fives, four top tens and one dreaded dnf. Purse of $1,478,943
 Not since 2002 when a new driver Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman went toe to toe for the prestigious honor has there been such a influx of raw rookie talent.
 At #28 in the standings is Justin Allgiar. Michael Annett is in the top 35 at #33. Alex Bowan in the 34th spot.Young Cole Whitt sits at the 35th spot and Ryan Truex at the 38th spot with one fewer race.
  Parker Kligerman is the first financial casualty of the 2014 racing season. These drivers are here in the big show now.
 Just knocking on the door at a much lower entrance salary are young shoes, Ty Dillion a sure addition next season. Two 16 year olds, Cole Custer and Gray Spaulding. Three 17 year olds, Erik Jones, Jesse Little and Ben Rhodes. 18 year old Ruben Garcia Jr. Austin Hill, Ryan Preece,  Braydon McReynolds, Ryan Gifford, Dakota Armstrong, Ryan Reed, Jeffrey Earnhardt and Johanna Long

#16 Gregg Biffle and #99 Carl Edwards must be looking over their shoulders and now know to stay in the big show will certainly be with a salary cut on the down turn of the USA economy and sponsors.
 Has any one had more bad luck than Martin Truex Jr in the #78 Furniture Row good ride ?
 The only one also on the down turn would be #15 newly wed Clint Boyer for Michael Waltrip Racing. Maybe Jamie McMurray should step it up also to keep his ride in the new 2015 NASCAR Fraternity.

"Hot Battle" brewing for "ROTY" in NASCAR Camping World Trucks

  One of NASCAR'S most competitive upper echelon divisions, Camping World Trucks has one of the most interesting battles brewing for the Rookie of the Year honors.
 The France family 3rd generation #31 Ben Kennedy is in the #6 spot after the first two of twenty two scheduled races on their circuit. He has been groomed or hardened off like a tomato plant for the ride.
 Ben is a mere 10 points out of the first place position and has a purse total of $ 34,721.00


#19 Tyler Reddick has started out well and will try to apply the heat on Ben. Tyler sits in the tenth spot and only twenty two points back. $26,640.00 to date. In head to head competition, Ben has one top five and a top ten.


The other Rookies are Chase Pistone in the twenty fifth spot. He has been in one race.
Another is Mason Mingus, even with two starts is in the twenty sixth position.
Gray Spaulding is in the thirty spot, one race entered.
Tyler Young is in the thirty one spot, two races entered.
With the Cup regulars coming down to swoop up the wins, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad  and others, it is possible like last season to win the division or the Rookie of the Year without a win.
We are fortunate that the exciting competitive division comes back to Loudon, New Hampshire after a few years hiatus for us Northern Race Fans to Enjoy. Wayne

Race Two Results Valenti Modifies Racing Series 4-21-2014

  Classic Modified Race at Monadnock Speedway. # 25 Rowan Pennick repeated as last years winner
with constant pressure from #13 Steve Masse of Bellingham, Mass. and #21 Justine Bonsignore who is still showing early season speed in all divisions. Masse rebounded from a tough week at the Speedbowl and gets back in his usual 10 ten in the standings.
 Rowan Pennick last years Valenti Modified Champion put on a driving clinic earning his 10 career win in the series.  If the series keeps this completion level up it will certainly achieve the top Modified series in our Great Country for the third straight year.  Boy the class is great with the correct way of qualifying races and a well run feature and even great announcers !

  What a great Broadcast we have scripted out for tonight. The early season started to heat up at the Waterford Speedbowl with a record number of DQ'S in a Few Divisions and a cold temperature night with Red Hot Racing at the Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire. The Valenti Modified Tour entertained the Race Fans at Monadnock also. The top NASCAR divisions had the weekend off for Easter and to get a second head of steam to earn a Chase Berth out of the first 26 weeks.
 Seekonk had some real interesting practices to acclimate some drivers to new division and new race cars to get a edge for opener. Cement Palace was warming up to the Racing vibrations, Wayne

First Ever Recorded Motor Racing Accident (1919)

 Louis Chevrolet-along with brothers Gaston and Arthur and Billy Durand were all Racing pioneers.
Louis was driving the #7 Frontenac when it caught fire at Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn,New York on September of 1919. The following footage is purported to be the First Ever Motorsports accident caught on Film. Thank You, to Blake Z, Rong, for sharing this valuable rare footage.

VMRS adds one more entry for at least the 5 Connecticut Races !

Late breaking Good news for the Valenti Modified Racing Series. The only Modified driver with two nicknames, "The Natural" or the newest "Torpedo Man" has hammered out at least a 5 race deal to run the Connecticut Races. Timmy Solomito, born Dec.1991, age 22 from Islip New York will be in the #11 Race Car for John Lukosavage and the car will be prepared by Dennis Pruchnik.
  The young gun has been in 8 career races in the Northern Whelens and has two top 5's and 3 top tens and one Pole Position. In the Southern Whelan , 1 start ,and one top 10 He is planning on all Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and Stafford Speedway. The young driver really looked good at the "Icebreaker in the season opener. Unconfirmed, if he holds his own,
