#51 Justin Bonsiginore, Wins the "Ice Breaker" Share Photos,
Justin earned his fourth career victory and second career win at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. Justin was not to be denied and took the lead from pole sitter Woody Pitkat for the final time on lap 142 of the 150 lap event.
My pre race pick of #93 Rowan Pennick made me look like a handicapper for Fox Woods until a full speed horrific crash, with no assist on turn three on lap 96. It sent chills down my spine and raised the few hairs that I have left on the back of my neck and I had another flashback of his wreck in front of the grandstand when he flipped the race car in front of my awestricken eyes in a restart when he race car was picked up with all four wheels off the ground by the car in front of him and the one behind him, then end over end.
Most of the field pitted after this red flag time and when the field came out # 4 Donny Lia in the bright yellow race car looked like the car to beat. A little later going for the lead, Woody Pitkat took the low line of turn two and Lia took the high road and contact was made with Lia on the wrong end of the hard fought battle. I interviewed Woody after the race in the press box and his version of the two sided story was that Lia came down on "him"
Yuhas,Bonsiginore,Hirschman, "Mr. Money" and Pitkat were showing the class of the remaining field which started with a low 25 car count on lap 129
Woody held off Justin on a lap 139 restart. then on lap 142 sealed the deal and drove off into the sunset, "Lights Out " At least a twelve car lead for the victory at the "Ice Breaker"
