The LTD.Sportsman drew the largest field of competitors again tonight and the track decided to scrap the heats and do a European Style Qualifying. The race cars were sent out in 4 minute group
sessions with the lap times used to determine the starting positions for the feature.
This was a sit on the edge of you're seat great race. Twenty laps of awesome fender to fender racing, with respect by the drivers in it too, Legendary, Leo Cleary was in attendance as a race fan at 85 years young and was beaming with the quality of bumping and passing ,high and low or slingshot.in this division of Ltd. Sportsman. A solid 24 car count of pros. #30 Cory Hutchings earned the Checkers with a motor put in the car two hours before starting the qualifier. The king of the division # 73 Larry (Happy) Barnett, formerly called (Lead Foot) from Moosup Conn.came back to the track after the big wreck in race one just in time to a loud raw from his large cheering section of race fans.
He proudly accepted the Silver Medal of driving tonight. #39 Chris Douton of Waterford, Conn.took third and the Bronze Medal and #36 Scott Sundeen from Douglas,Mass. was a threat the 20 laps and the points lead after two races. Last tears division champion # 55 Steve Kenneway settled for the 5 spot in a stunning looking race car at night.The first seven laps were as close as a Ace Of Spades beween them, then Hutching's pulled ahead for good.
