Corey LaJoi debuts at Loudon, New Hampshire 9-21-14


Nationwide 21st at Kentucky

Corey LaJoi, Concord, NC to make Sprint Cup debut this weekend at Loudon,NH and with 43 race cars pre-registered should get in. Randy Humphrey Racing ride will come less than a week before his 23rd birthday. Corey is the son of former two time champion Randy LaJoi and the president of the www.Joieofseating.net  Randi was a guest on our radio show "Race Chatter" a few weeks back. Young LaJoi is a development driver for Richard Petty Motorsports but the race team has not found sponsorship for him yet for the 2015 racing season.
LaJoi has run one Nationwide race this season and placed 21st at Kentucky out of 40 race cars. LaJoi has also run two Camping World Truck Series races in 2014. He finished 15th at Kentucky and a super 10th at Bristol in the Ford. LaJoi said in a interview he is unsure of his plans beyond this week. If things go well, he could be in line for rides with Randy Humphrey Racing at Kansas, Charlotte and Texas.
He is also seeking rides at Kansas and Charlotte in the Nationwide Series "It does seem like things are opening up,
 If I get a solid run...and bring it home in one piece who knows what will happen."
Richard Petty is looking for a new shoe for one of his cup teams for 2015 with Marcus Ambrose leaving. ? We will be rooting for Corey LaJoi  or young Tyler Reddick for the ride.

LaJoi started his racing career in 1996,competing in kart racing events winning 19 times on dirt and asphalt. He moved in 2003 to the INEX Bandolero series and scored twelve wins and winning the Summer Shootout Championship. LaAjoi then moved to the Legends Series in 2005 and in 2006 moved to the Aarons Pro Challenge Series and won 10 of the 12 races there. Between 2007and 2009, LaJoi competed in the UARA- Stars Late Model Touring Series; scoring a win and ten top tens in 17 starts in that series. In 2009 he made the big jump for a ride in the Camping World East Series, now known as the K&N Series East. He stayed in this series until 2012.He scored his first win at the famous Bowman-Gray Stadium and four additional victories along his way to a second place finish in the final standings.
