Thirty-six Charter teams will be assigned a starting position
Four Open teams are eligible for starting positions
o The highest finishing Open team in each Can-Am Duel race earns a starting position.
Open Teams are: #21-Blaney, #93-DiBenedetto, #59-McDowell, #26-Richard Jr. #98-Whitt, #35-Gilliland, #30-Wise and #40-Sorenson.
o The final two starting positions are awarded to Open teams based on Coors Light Pole Qualifying if not already a top finisher in a Duel race.
Two Open Teams are locked in by speed: #21-Blaney and #93-DiBenedetto. Next in line if the #21 or #93 races into the field are #59-McDowell & #26-Richard Jr.. The only way the follow drivers: #98-Whitt, #35-Gilliland, #30-Wise and #40-Sorenson get in the race are being the highest finishing Open car.
- Qualifying set the front row for the Daytona 500 and the starting lineup for the Can-Am Duel fields, with the number of Charter team and Open team cars split evenly throughout both races.
#24-Chase Elliott is on the pole with #20-Matt Kenseth on the outside pole.The Can-Am Duels are set for Thursday Night at 7:00 pm/et on FS1 to set the rest of the field for the Daytona 500.
