Race Chatter - Cole Carter, son of legendary Pancho Carter, has entered the Northeastern Midget Ass'n finale at Thompson, Speedway Motorsports Park
Carter will be teammate of former series champion and current NEMA points leader Randy Cabral in a Bertrand Motorsports entries. He will steer the #74 driven numerous times this year by 2012 NASCAR Whelen and soon to be 2014 champion, Doug Coby. Carter will join a strong field led by Cabral, the all-time NEMA winner at Thompson, that includes Bertrand Motorsports teammate, Todd Betrand, 2013 series champion John Zych, Avery Stoehr, Seth Carlson and Paul Scally.
Among current competitors, Russ Stoehr and Zych are the other previous Thompson winners that are pre-registered to be on hand for the season finale.
Carter has been racing with USAC periodically over 14 years. He has also driven sprint cars,
Silver Crown Cars and Indy Lights race cars. His last start for Bertrand Motorsports resulted in a runner-up effort to Cabral in 2010 at Thompson. Carter also had podium finishes earlier that season at both Stafford Motor Speedway and Thompson.

Bethany Stoehr should have the engine repaired on her race car that lost the oil at Waterford in time for qualifing.
