Nearly a year after being diagnosed with and then it appeared he had overcome head and neck cancer, we received some bad news Wednesday, Oct. 8,2014, that longtime NASCAR TV personality Steve Byrnes has once again been stricken by the illness.
According to a statement by Fox Sports, "Longtime NASCAR on Fox on-air personality Steve Byrnes is taking an indefinite leave of absence, effectively immediately, to focus on his health after receiving news he has suffered a recurrence of cancer."
One of the nicest, funniest and most popular personably mainstays in the NASCAR garage and pit road, Byrnes will once again undergo upcoming medical treatment, the network said.
"Any further updates on Brynes will come at the discretion of the family," the network statement added.
It goes without saying, but we're pulling and praying for you, Steve.
