The NASCAR Weekly All American Series is returning to Seekonk Speedway in 2015 and bringing many changes along with it.
After a year off from heat points, the Seekonk Speedway is back on the train.
Starting on Sunday with the season opener, each of the divisions at the track will be allotted points for where they finish in the heat races. The winner of the heat will be given five championship points. The scale will decrease by one down through the bottom of the top five.
Therefore, the points for heats are as follows:
1st place — 5 points
2nd place — 4 points
3rd place — 3 points
4th place — 2 points
5th place — 1 point
Any driver that finishes outside the top five in the heat races will not be given any points. Sixth on back will receive 0 for the event.
The feature portion of the point standings will remain the same for the 2015 NASCAR Weekly All American Series season. The winner will be given 50 championship points, with a two point decrease on down throughout the field.
The championship drivers will be crowned in September on Final Points Night, then will come together for a formal celebration in November at the banquet.
The Seekonk Speedway opens their 70th season of action on Sunday May 3.
