Silly Season in the NASCAR Whelen Modified North Series continues.
So far in the off season #6 TS/Haulers East/West Marine team owned by Ed Partridge and driven by Ryan Preece is tentatively out unless Preece wants to come back ?
The #22 Canto Paving-Milton Caterpillar with three different drivers in 2015 Barrette, Rocco, Christopher and crew chief Brad Lafontaine claims that he has had enough.
Now on November 18th Woody Pitkat received a call that the Buzz Chew/Elbow East Chevrolet with Ron Ste-Marie has decided to go dirt track racing in 2016.
Pitkat was a repeat guest on our Race Chatter broadcast on November 9th and was asked the question of his potential rides in the 2016 racing season and confirmed his quest to repeat at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in the Stan Mertz #6 SK Mod against Rocco,Preece,Malone,McDermott,Berndt and others.The also stated that he should be able to repeat in his quest for back to back championships in the #42 Valenti Modified Racing Series after winning with missing a race at Monadnock with the duel schedule last season.
When asked about the SK Mod ride Friday nights at Stafford for 23 weeks Pitkat was kind of hesitant and said that its a long summer schedule and did not want to spread himself to thin and would be happy with a lighter schedule there.The one series Pitkat perked up on was the Tri-Track Modified Series and the big pay-outs and was looking forward to racing in that competition again in 2016. Seekonk and Monadnock are already on board for 2016.
I left a message on Pitkats voice mail to add any validation to the rumors of him taking the #79 Hillbilly Racing ride or the potential #3 Ole Blue seat which I am being bombarded with e-mails on and will not post the seat, if any until Pitkat confirms.
I know one thing that this short list of available modified drivers is Hall of Fame All-Star caliber.
