Bert Ouellette has been named crew chief for the Fox61 Blitz Black Motorsports Race Truck driven by Pete Cayer. Ouellette has been the hottest shoe in truck racing of late, with wins in his last 4 races dating back to last season, but assumes a new role for the New London-Waterford Speedbowl Truck Division in which he does not currently compete.
"I've been helping out as a crew member on the Cindy Burdick Motorsports #151 since late last season," said Pete Cayer. "As Bert, Harold and Cindy Burdick and I got to talking we decided we really work well together. They're a championship caliber operation, and since I've been helping them they decided to get more involved with my program as well.
It's the best of both worlds, as we are able to support each other. I'm really excited to be part of the Speedbowl's program. Shawn Monahan and his staff have put together a great rules package that really puts the competitors first." "Pete's been fast in his truck," said Ouellette. "Pete's been a great asset to our team and truck racing in general, and I'm just happy to be able to return the favor. Pete's helped us to a win in our truck already this season at the Speedbowl, I'm going to do my best to help him find victory lane too."
The FOX61 Passing Bird Photography Shebeen Brewing Race Truck takes to the track for the New London-Waterford Speedbowl's first truck event on June 18th. The race event coincides with the track's "Town Night" where people living in cities and towns beginning with the letters N through Z will receive free admission
