New England stand-out driver Keith Rocco continued his strong season with another statement victory. Rocco said his fourth consecutive win could be a personal record for him at the track. Rocco now moves up on the all-time win list with 42 and next on the career win list is Jeff Zudemia with 52 and then Glenn Boss with a career 56 wins.
“We have all the right pieces. The car is in my shop, I’m the last one to touch it when it comes off the scale – With the new tire they went to if you have the right set up for the car it definitely sticks. It’s nice to have that tire under us and it makes for good racing,” Rocco said after his win. Two consecutive events the Rocco twins have not entered the Late Model division at the track. Rocco entered the night in 5th place in the National rankings and depending on his Saturday results from NLWSpeedbowl could move up a notch too. Ronnie Williams, Ryan Preece, Rowan Pennink and Woody Pitkat rounded out the top five for the 30-lap feature. Pitkat on the past weeks Race Chatter stated that he needed a top 5 to stay in the race to repeat as it's champion and I know owner Stan Mertz and Perry power will provide him with the needed adjustments. The other point about the race is Ryan Preece #31 accumulating the frequent flyer miles with his hectic Xfinity schedule and other tours staying in the hunt for a division championship too.
