 What a night of wild racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park
Donnie Lia's  yellow #4 blistered the field for the pole position. Career #20 in his stellar racing career. Former Tour champion also. #64 Ron Yuhas Jr.on the front row.3rd  Tommy Barett in the Brad Lafontaine pre-pared race car. Barrett traded paint with Yuhas and took over 2nd and Yuhas reeled it in and settled in the 4 spot. Lia set a blistering pace and led the first 40 laps. Bobby Santos #44 was off tonight for his standards and starting in the 10th spot and was the first casualty of the night on lap 12 into the wall on turn two. On lap #51 Justine Bonsignore snuck in the pits for some needed adjustments. On lap 52, last years division champion Preece was next with a spin out from side by side racing

Two Wins at Thompson in 2014

 Restart and after the shuffle it was Lia,Doug Coby,Yuhas,Barrett, and now #6 Ron Silk turned on the after burners. Lap 73 another caution turn two wall banger. At this time a lot of the field elected to pit and Lia'sluck would change in a hurry. The car that had just hit the wall was next to Lia's pit stall and it cost Lia dearly. The team had to manually push Lia's race car back to     clear for a exit. Net loss of 4 positions is hard to make up half way through the race....Lap 78 restart #8 Reen,Silk,Barett,,Hirschman,and Lia.

Lap 88 Silk looked like the horse to beat with Barrett inching closer on each lap counting to Lap 120 when a recharged Lia and Barrett brought out the caution,taking each other out trying to maneuver through slower lap traffic. Lap 127 had Silk at the point, Doug Coby now smelling some points.New found hope #51 Justine Bonsignore who was quietly running his own race with in a race,Hirschman and a repaired Ryan Preece on a mission.
Lap 129 at the grand stands # Rowan Pennick spun through the infield and some how landed on the pit wall. No problem, he drove it off to the pit area with flat tires.Restart lap 134 had Silk,Coby,Bosignore who had won the spring Ice Breaker in April and also leading the Valenti Modified Series standings looking like it was going to be a exciting finish for the fans. In two laps,136 Bonsignore made up two cars in one pass but it was short lived on the next lap when Ron Yuhas who really had a good night wrecked on turn two with another racer.18 race cars left now out of 25 who started.Restart on lap 141 then another spin out.
Restart at lap 143 Bonsignore Silk,Hirschman, Preece.Tires finally went away on Silks chariot and the race was virtually over.  Nice Fireworks on lap one to surprise the die hard race fans on the back straight away.
