Race #3 LAPS 20: for the Monster Mini Stocks on a beautiful spring night in New England.
The field was low at 15 race teams so the track decided on two heats on the card.
Heat # 1
The #38 driven by Ed Field Deep River, Conn.is the race car his late brother drove to so many quality laps and victories throughout New England. Well he did not skip a beat and took his heat race over veteran driver #97 Dave Trudeau from Mansfield, Conn. Yes, Trudeau disagrees with the superstition of the bad luck for the color green on race cars and has certainly won his fair share of races. Third went to former track champion #33 Eric Bourgeois who had something to prove after the heart wrenching dreaded DQ in the second feature at the April Ice Breaker. In a post race interview Bourgeois exclaimed he had two different

Heat #2
As we all know there is a lot of people in the Monster Minis with the last name of Michalski now and over the past 15 years. In the second heat it was #44 Steve Michalski from Brooklyn, Conn. with the win. He was followed by Pascoag, R.I.s #24 Joe Baxter who also was doing double duty driving today in the red #58 Antique Racers Event. The Baxters travels throughout New England with his brother Chad a former Monster Mini Track champion in his own right. On Friday nights Chad pilots the blue #4 at Fast Friday Seekonk Speedway in the Pure Stock division.3rd went to #12 Mike D. Veins from nearby Putnam, Conn. and the 4th spot in the heat race #2 went to the #55 of Nick Anderson who hails from Oxford, Mass. Top 5 in the heat to #7 Christopher Veins of Putnam Conn. I met young Veins in the pit area and he looked focused.
Feature Monster Mini 6-10-15
Top starting spots went to #33 Eric Bourgeois and upstart #19 Nick Matera and by lap 3 it was lights out for the field with Bougeois who later told me in a post race conversation in the booth "I had to prove it was no fluke" and really put on a show and backed it up with his impressive victory.
My hard charger driver of the race was a impressive championship style driven up on the wheel by #97 Dave Trudeau who stayed after it and claimed second place ! By the way I think that the 3rd place podium finish for #19 Nick Matera was his highest career finish in the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park Monster Mini's
