In a press conference, Ty Dillon discussed his plans for 2016 – and they include going to Cup. Ty Dillon claimed this was his primary intention after racing this season, of course that is going to be a lot easier if he wins this year’s XFINITY Series championship. In 9 races this year, Ty Dillon had 3 top 5s and 7 top 10s. He has still not been able to pick up his first win, but he says he is slowly widening the points gap – despite not starting well this season.
He claims that a championship win will help him get sponsors in place for the Cup Series in 2016. According to him, he has already talked this through with his grandfather Richard Childress. Does this mean that RCR will upgrade to a 4 car team fielding the No. 33 full time or is someone’s future at RCR in jeopardy? NASCAR P/R Dept. Media
