Thompson Speedway 18 Lap Monster Mini Special MAY 15, 2014

The rain parted the sky just enough to get the extended 18 lap feature Monster Mini race in to salute a fallen Champion, driver Danny Fields, a six time Champion, who passed away from liver cancer recently.. Three time Track Champion at Waterford Speedbowl. Two time Champion at Thompson ,with 11 out of 15 wins in 2011 along with 14 top 5's out of 15 races. Fields was also New England Touring Mini Champion in 2012.
His brother Ed Field, of Deep River, Conn. piloted the famous #18 to respectable third place finish.
The heat race and feature was a brother act from Burrillville, Rhode Island. 2012 Track Champion # 21 Chad Baxter who last year tried to sell the car returned from the Icebreaker Race trim for the uncontested win. His younger brother Joey Baxter in # 24 settled for another 2nd place. Joey has two career wins and also four 2nd place final standings on the resume in the Monster Mini Division. He really has a lot of pure fun driving the Mini and a antique racer Coupe with Dad.
