Kurt Busch wins Las Vegas pole: #41-Kurt Buch won the Coors Light pole for the Kobalt 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with speed of 196.328mph for his 2nd pole of 2016, 2nd at Las Vegas and 21st of his career. Busch has won 1 race from the pole out of 20 previous poles.
#22-Logano is on the outside pole followed by #20-Kenseth, #2-Keselowski, #3-Dillon, #4-Harvick, #43-Almirola, #5-Kahne, #11-Hamlin, #78-Truex, Jr., #48-Johnson, and #47-Allmendinger.
#41-Busch was fastest in the first round with a speed of 196.378mph [a track record]. #2-Keselowski topped the second round at 195.560mph.
14 drivers posted laps faster than the previous track record of 194.679mph which was set last year by Jeff Gordon.
For two weeks in a row only 39 cars were entered so everyone made the race.

Las Vegas Driver Notes & Facts: · 139 drivers have competed in at least one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas; 106 in more than one.
· Jeff Gordon is the only driver to participate in all 18 previous Las Vegas Motor Speedway NASCAR Sprint Cup races.
· Stanton Barrett (1999), Kyle Busch (2004), Timmy Hill (2012), Jon Wood and Aric Almirola (2007) made their first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
· 11 different drivers have won at LVMS, led by Jimmie Johnson with four (2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010).
· Three other drivers have multiple wins at Las Vegas: Matt Kenseth (three), Jeff Burton, Carl Edwards (each have two).
· Las Vegas-native Kyle Busch became the first and only driver to win from the pole, in 2009.

· Four reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions have gone on to win at Las Vegas the following season: Matt Kenseth (2004), Jimmie Johnson (2007, 2010), Tony Stewart (2012) and Kevin Harvick (2015).
· Three drivers have won at Las Vegas and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in the same season: Jeff Gordon (2001), Matt Kenseth (2003) and Jimmie Johnson (2006, 2007 and 2010).
· Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the series in runner-up finishes at Las Vegas with three; followed by Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart with two each.
· Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart lead the series in top-five finishes at Las Vegas with six each.
· Mark Martin has 10 top-10 finishes, more than any other driver. Dale Earnhardt Jr and Matt Kenseth lead all active drivers with nine top-10 finishes each.
· Carl Edwards leads the series in average finish at LVMS with a 11.375.
· Danica Patrick and Shawna Robinson are the only two female drivers to compete at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
