Kyle Busch wins Phoenix pole: #18-Kyle Busch won the Coors Light pole for the Good Sam 500(k) Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway with speed of 138.387mph for his 1st pole of 2016, 3rd at Phoenix and 18th of his career. Busch has won 3 race from the pole out of 17 previous poles.
#19-Edwards is on the outside pole followed by #11-Hamlin, #41-Busch, #48-Johnson, #20-Kenseth, #42-Larson, #78-Truex, Jr., #22-Logano, #17-Stenhouse, Jr., #1-McMurray, and #21-Blaney.
#5-Kahne & #48-Johnson will both have to start at the rear for the race. #5-Kahne's team had to change an engine after trouble in the first round of qualifying. #48-Johnson hit the wall during the final round and will have to go to a backup car.
#41-Busch was fastest in the first round with a speed of 137.536mph. #11-Hamlin topped the second round at 138.042mph. Kevin Harvick starts 18th tomorrow and has owned this track in recent visits.
Again this week only 39 cars were entered so everyone made the race.
