IN HEAT #1 #97 Dave Trudeau proved again that a green race car can win and be fast. 24.908 and a respectable 90.332 mph. The Heat #2 fastest mini was #33 Eric Bourgeois at 24.844 and 90.565 mph. # 50 Ageless Louie Bellisle was the only other mini to break the 25 second barrier at 24.942
The feature had a field of 14 mini's going for 15 laps till the checkered flag.
Lap 1 #47 Larry Loomis Jr. blew up and on lap 2 # 34 Roger Ducharme Glendale,R.I.who struggled in his heat race again took an early exit. On lap #3 a few more spinners. On lap 8 # 50 Bellisle decided the grass needed a trim and drove half way across the track and the #10 of the new grand parents Keith & Raina Ballou out of Pascoag,R.I.took early retirement. Then on lap #11 the #19 of Nick Matera Warwick,R.I.attempted to set the toe on his car by smacking the outside wall to no avail. All along the #51 of Scott Michalski was setting his sights on win #3 of the 2015 racing season.
After entering victory lane Michalski commented on his hard fought win. “I had to have a little patience and a little luck. On the third restart there I have to thank Eric Bourgeois. He gave me this win (with a push on the restart),” said Michalski.
A interesting side note on this race was the fantastic job by the driver #24 Joe Baxter of Pascoag, R.I. who traded sheet metal at lap 3, went to the pits for a flat tire and came back for a solid points night in 3rd place
