The last feature race of the night at Thompson was the 20 lap Limited Sportsman which drew total of 25 full fender race cars. A few drivers ventured over from other tracks and really made a nice field.
52 Al Stone III a two time track champion at the New London Waterford Speedbowl came to win with a best of 24.002 and 93.742 mph in his heat race and in the 2nd heat race the Entertainer dazzled the field with a fast time of 23.863 and a fast lap of 94.288 mph. Add current points leader #36 Scott Sundeen at 188, Christopher ( Moose)Douton at 180 and in a borrowed #12 race car from Mr.Evans at Waterford while his familiar blue FORD #39 gets it's motor back. Did I tell you that #73 Larry(Leadfoot
Barnett 175 points was back for a few more career wins and just maybe another division championship trophy for his very large mantle. If this all-star field is not enough lets ad #38 Cory Hutchings ( The Entertainer) a 166 points and #75 Ryan Waterman at 156 points with one fewer race (DQ) to the competition.
The Xtramart Limited Sportsman feature with another multi-car wreck in the opening lap continuing the carnage of the night.
The first half of the event was dominated by pole sitter Al Stone III until a fast charging Corey Hutchings caught Stone on lap 8 before another wreck brought out the yellow. Hutchings inherited the lead on the restart and never looked back, taking the win after a dominating performance in the second half of the 20-lap feature to close out the night.
