In the Lite Modifieds Corey Barry took advantage of a mid race caution and strong restarts to claim a dominating victory in a 20-lap dash. Damon Tinio had control of much of the first half of the event, the race car of Barry and then Rufrano could catch him but it was another thing to pass him before he lost control of his car in turns one and two after the halfway point, leaving the door open for Barry to claim the win while Wesley Prucker and Marcello Rufrano rounded out the top three. The Lites took the 2015 racing season off at Thompson on low car counts and this made the third visit in 2016 to a dwindling field. The Ice Breaker drew 8 Lites. On July 9th they drew a nice count of 12 and then tonight dropped to 6.
